No luck trying to install the latest drivers from Realtek (error using the installer: "The Realtek Network Controller was not found. Oesn't even show up anymore in the device manager -> network adapters. Same problem but even worse as the network adapter (Realtek 8111D chipset (10/100/1000 Mbit) on motherboard Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD4P) d EDIT: problem solved using windows update via a shared connection, see my other comment below.
